On my recent trip to Birmingham, I decided to take a little time and check out on possible spots for watching trains. I had a tip on a location in Irondale, AL and went to check it out. The results..... The results were far better than I had imagined. My information had stated that there was a possibility of a platform by the tracks. It turns out, there are 3 platforms- although one is part of a caboose used as a museum of some type. Even better is the fact that there is a long platform on one side of the multiple tracks and the others are on the opposite side.
These are the platforms south of the tracks as seen from the platform on the north side. If you are interested in checking this one out, I am including an area map for this location. Be safe and enjoy.

This is the long platform north of the tracks as seen from the platform on the south side. Also behind this long platform is the famous Irondale Cafe (aka- The Whistle Stop Cafe from Fried Green Tomatoes).
